Sunday, April 2

Today we talked about symbols, the yin and yang from Taoism. We learned about the seven tenets of Taoism, and the balance of opposites. We talked about opposites and Fiona mentioned Bob Marley with his opposite as John Ashcroft's "Let the Eagles Soar". We identified other symbols of religions and other symbols in our society. Then we made our own symbols.

January 9th-God As Mysterious

The story of Job

Does God want us to suffer?  Is God fair?  Are prayers answered?  We discussed how one image of God is that God is mysterious.  We read a story about praying and what happens if a prayer isn't answered.  We talked about what people pray for-health, wealth, happiness, etc.  We talked about the story of Job and how Job seemed to suffer, but kept his faith in God, even when his prayers didn't seem to be answered.

Sunday January 2nd-Happy New Years

It was game day, yeahhhh!!!.  We played Apples to Apples and we also talked about New Years Resolutions.  It was a fine way to start out the new year.
